Question about first period after birth because of breastfeeding

So this is potentially a very silly question.. I've just today got my period back as I've been exclusively breastfeeding my little one. Can I use tampons or is it not advised? It's almost ridiculous timing as I'm due to fly to Croatia first thing Saturday 😞😞😞 and basically planned to be in the pool lots. I've not had anything since postpartum bleeding. Typical!! I've also not had time to pack anything, and I'm shattered from the 8 month regression x

You can use whatever products you feel comfortable and confident with :) there’s no restriction 8 months PP as far as I’m aware!

Can I ask are you still breastfeeding? I've been getting cramps lately and wondering if my period is coming back too. I'm sure I read somewhere that tampons shouldn't be used until after 6 weeks. In regards to being on holiday/in the pool, have you ever tried using a menstrual cup? They're amazing and can keep it in for up to 8 hours depending how heavy your flow is 🌸

I think you should only avoid tampons for the first 6 weeks pp. Definitely safe to use them now.

Perfectly safe, and probably the most practical solution for still being able to swim when you go away
