Postpartum hair

The past 3 weeks my hair has been so oily and greasy, even STRAIGHT AFTER I wash it! It’s greasy 24/7 Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?

I always mix baking soda with my shampoo before lathering and don’t need to wash it again for a week

Snapppppp. I’m 13 weeks PP and for about 5 days I’ve started experiencing hair loss and for about a week now my hair is constantly greasy. I just wear it up, wash it every 2 days or so and just roll with it. I have a clarifying shampoo (Paul Mitchell shampoo 2) but that doesn’t seem to be doing much now 🤣 it’s hormonal sadly and just got to ride it out I think?

@Jade I just have it up 24/7 😂😂 starting to forget what I look like with hair down

@Naz does it still get greasy?

@Lauren Nope not at all. I went through a long phase trying to figure out why my hair was suddenly greasy and bitty after I’d just washed it and found a Reddit thread where someone suggestion baking soda. I’ve been doing this for about a year or so now and my hair is never greasy unless it’s been about a week without a wash

@Naz oh wow! So how do you mix it all together? How do you do it!?

@Lauren I just pour about a tablespoon of baking soda into my hand and then add shampoo and mix it together before lathering on my scalp. I only apply it once - I used to shampoo twice but don’t feel I need to now cause my scalp and hair feel very clean when I’ve washed with baking soda. I just use the food grade ones you get in the baking section of the supermarket but you can also get larger tubs.

@Naz thankyou for sharing this with me. Do you also do the same with conditioner or is it just shampoo?

@Lauren only shampoo, then I apply conditioner as usual to the ends of my hair
