Placenta

Did anyone else not get told where abouts your placenta was sitting? In my previous pregnancy I was told straight away. But this time round she just showed it to us on the screen. So I’m now wondering if I have an anterior placenta as I haven’t really felt any movement and I’ll be 16 weeks Friday. I know everyone is different and feels kicks and movements at different times. I was just a bit surprised I didn’t get told that information. 🥴🤷🏼‍♀️

I haven't been told this time at all. Last time I had an anterior placenta & didn't feel baby until 24 weeks. Midwife told me on Monday that if baby is down near my pelvis, then I may feel slight movements, but if baby is up nearer my ribs & in more open space, I won't feel anything yet.

Im pretty sure with both my others I didn't find out till my 20 week scan and was noted in the notes from that scan too, but the 12 week just had the measurements and dating info mostly! I've had anterior for my last 2 pregnancies so will be good to find out if this one is too!

I didn't get told till I booked a private gender scan yesterday so at 16 weeks ask at your next scan

I only found out through my private scan x

@Laura (Lor) ah, i didn’t realise all hospitals do it differently sorry! hopefully they’ll be able to help you out and let you know that as well as he gender🥰xx

@Amy that’s okay girly, I mean they should state that in my notes anyway so I think they need to up their game aha but yeah thank you so much!🥰xx

I only found out in my first pregnancy at my 20 week scan. I had a private scan on Monday though and was told mine is posterior this time.

@Rachel oh did you, with my first they told me at my early scan so was expecting it this time round too but went to a different place and obviously they didn’t tell me so I was expecting to be told at my 12 weeks scan but I didn’t think to ask when she had it on the screen aha

Tbh you might not even notice a difference if it is in a diff place! Mine was at the front last time but I’ve still started feeling movements at the same time in the same place 😂💁🏼‍♀️ I’m 17 weeks today and it’s literally only been the last couple days that I’ve been like “yep that’s def the baby!”

It doesn't say on my badger notes in my scan notes for me either and I've not been told. I'm 16w on Tuesday and my midwife asked if I've felt anything yet, I said no. She said its not too unusual but if I've not felt anything by 20 weeks they'll do some checks

Had my gender scan today and have been told it’s on the front wall up near my abdomen so I have an anterior placenta this time round
