Mums with Low Body Weight….

Hey! This is my second pregnancy (first is now 11yrs old, so basically starting a fresh with this little guy!) I have always been low weight, stabalising and happy at around 50kg (& 5’8”) I have always had low BP because of this. At this point I would like to say, I eat LOADS, I just seem to be a very active person. My first was an elected C-section,due to her restricted growth, caused by severe hyperemesis, but I am hoping that I can attempt a VBAC this time around. My concern is that my energy levels are shockingly low and I can barely make it up the stairs without muscle exhaustion. Has anyone with a lower ‘natural’ weight faced any difficulties when labouring? I am genuinely getting scared that I might not be ok 🙈 (dramallama!) Oh I am also 37yrs old, so you know, loving the whole ‘risk bracketing’ they have already condemned me with! Haha

Who's "risk bracketing" you? I'm 38 and literally no-one has mentioned my age... except me in jest!

@Katie from the get go I was shoved in a high risk category because of being over 35 haha

Sorry I can’t comment on the low body weight bit for myself, but I just wanted to jump on here and say how awful I think this whole ‘geriatric mother’ thing is!! I’m only just 32 and they’ve made comments like ‘due to your advanced maternal age…’ !! Really annoys me, especially because after 4 years of infertility and a loss at 19 weeks last year, it’s not like having my first term pregnancy at this age was really in the plan! Anyway I’ll back off now 😂

Oh my god, girls. Are these comments coming from midwives? 32 is like prime birthing age these days 😅 unbelievable...

I had the exact same with my first born (minus my age) but also finding my muscles get exhausted super quickly. I’ve been eating like a horse this pregnancy too! I’ve started following some exercises and stretches on YouTube and using my birthing ball every evening for the last few weeks and I definitely feel a bit more limber! I’ve been having some electrolyte drinks to help with my energy and these seem to help too so just going to slowly but surely keep going until I *hopefully* go into natural labour and can manage the VBAC lmao. Hypnobirthing has also helped shift my mentality a lot too! X

Thank you @Zoe that’s really helpful xxxx
