Ketchup?

Ok here's a conflicting subject. Do you give your 15 month old Ketchup? I'm am just starting to introduce sauces to my 15m old but on the fence with this one becuase of the salt and sugar. It wouldn't be much since I dont give a lot of sauce (she's not a really saucy kind of girl) but still not sure. Let me know.

If it’s just a small amount and used occasionally, it’s fine, especially since it sounds like your daughter isn’t really into sauces anyway. You could also explore low-sugar or no-sugar-added versions of ketchup to reduce the sugar content. There are also healthier alternatives, like mashed avocado, unsweetened applesauce, or yogurt-based dips. Moderation is key, if it's an occasional treat in small amounts, it’s okay 😊

I use the reduced salt and sugar one myself and have done for years. My 16 month old has had it unwittingly (I put a squirt in when I make baked beans to give them that tang). But not by itself.

No as she'd happily eat food without. Only recently at 3 have I introduced mayo when she's been uninterested in eating (not very often)

We use the reduced sugar and salt version. I don't give it a lot as both by kids (4 and 1) would just eat it with a spoon.

My guy is 15 months old too and has had it a couple of times. He likes it but we will be cautious to offer it in moderation for sure

i don’t restrict my kids diets at all really. idc ab sauces. my daughter would drink ranch if i let her

He doesnt ask so he don’t get x

I don't remember when I started giving it to my girls but if she doesn't ask for it I wouldn't give it. Mine are now obsessed with it and want it on EVERYTHING. I buy 3 bottles at a time from Sam's club now 🥴🥴

We give it when toddler asks. We by the kind made without any added sugar. We offer other dips often like hummus or unsweetened yogurt with dill and garlic

We use no sugar ketchup

I second not restricting. My son will eat whatever you put in front of him from veggies to chicken nugs and fries. He ate Marty me chicken last night for dinner so if I need to give him ketchup or chic fil a sauce for his meal that’s fine for me cause I know it isn’t every single day or every meal in a day

I don’t restrict any food so yes if we are having some and he asks, he can have some

@SquishyMommy1 same

I buy ketchup with no sugar added. The amount of salt is so small that I don’t mind that.

I make my own way too much shit in North American ketchup
