Struggling with nursery transition/solids

Does anyone else have a baby who is struggling with solids? Specifically an exclusively breast fed baby that is point blank refusing to eat most solids. 12 months old and recently started nursery but is unable to complete full days because she will not take solids, won’t take expressed milk from a bottle and is therefore just starving and getting more and more distressed. All healthcare professionals advise is to stop breastfeeding cold turkey but that seems totally not doable. Hoping to find someone with similar issues who has come out the other side!

Thats crazy advice. Keep baby hydrated and fed with the booby milk. Mayve set up a messy sensory play with food. Let baby squish it, throw it, smell it ... and join in. Often eventually babys get curious and put it in their mouths. Do it daily and see what happens. The idea of food atm might be scary to baby. Babys explore the world through their mouths at this age. So this is the best advice ive ever heard. (It was professional advice but not for me)

My baby is exactly the same! He’s 1, just started nursery and is EBF. Won’t take bottles and won’t eat! He does 9-3.30 though so a little shorter than the average day! They have just said they’ll keep trying as he’ll eventually get hungry enough! But it still doesn’t feel good! X

Yes, EBF - baby barely touched solids. Nursery advised to wait until the end of the day, and I'd give them expressed milk. 3 weeks later, he's eating much better thanks to nursery. They're experts! He always begs for milk at the end of the day, but I think that's more about comfort.

@Katy do you mean wait til the end of the day to feed?

End of the nursing day, sorry that wasn't clear. About 5pm when we pick up, he'll ask me for milk.
