Hand foods

What are your little ones eating? My lg is 71/2 months and I’m trying to think of foods she can just eat with her hands she eats a lot of veg sticks and broccoli but seems when I look at tik tok mums they’re giving their 5 month olds a whole chicken leg😂 so now I’m abit confused to what things are safe for my baby to eat 😂

Iv been making banana pancakes for my 6 1/2 month old and even my teenager likes them too lol, he can hold them and smush them and loves them when he's interested it just smashed up bananas egg and self raising flour I tried plain flour and were not as good iv done mine cooked carrot sticks cooked sweet potato sticks, iv also done banana sticks just slice in half then half again he loves them too, obvs still veg and fruit but the pancakes are good also iv bought potato waffles and cut them in to the sticks and he loves them too I just cook it in the toaster and it just done enough to not be crispy also iv got Richmond skinless sausage and cut them in half or quarters he loves his sausage 😊

I do pancakes the same as @Claire. I also do different omelettes, I do toast with different toppings. My girl loved avacado on toast and she can easily hold that or smush it and play with it😅 I’ve tried her with a lot of different veg (some of it I’ve not even tried myself 🤣) she loves aubergine and courgette, they are easy for her to hold. I also have some of the spoons you can mush food into, they’re great as they can hold them easily whilst trying foods you can’t have as finger foods. For example I tried her with cod recently with one of them spoons and she loved it! Hope that helps x

@Helen totally forgot about toast lol, ooooo I also give mine cucumber without the skin too, ooooo what spoons are these please never seen them or hurd of them iv got the like dummy things that they can hold but not seen a spoon xx

@Helen never thought of omelets either that's a great idea sill defo try this for mine thank you x

@Helen brilliant thank you so much x

Solid starts is great, shows you how to introduce all different foods safely, including a whole chicken leg 🤣

I’m with @Lara about the solid starts app! My 7 month old absolutely loved her chicken leg last week 😅 the Instagram page is really good too. My little girl also loves pasta we get fusilli so it’s easy to pick up and can serve plain or blend veggies to make a sauce for it. I also made cheese, broccoli and egg muffins and banana and avocado pancakes in a big batch to freeze for an easy breakfast/lunch option
