Antibiotics during pregnancy

Hi, has anyone been on antibiotics during pregnancy and how did you/ unborn baby get on with them? I’m 33 weeks and for the last two weeks haven’t been able to hear out my left ear due to ringing and inflammation in my ear. Doctors say it’s from a viral or bacterial infection and two different types of ear drop antibiotics haven’t made a difference. They are advising me to take oral antibiotics but of course this is at my own risk to the baby!

Sorry to hear that you're suffering. I've just been prescribed amoxicillin for a UTI at 16.5wks, whilst I was reading up I did see something about antibiotics in the 3rd trimester but I only skim read it. Which antibiotics have you been prescribed?

@Anna hope you’re okay and antibiotics are working? I’m allergic to penicillin which of course makes it’s difficult. They’ve offered me erythromycin… they couldn’t find risks online, but they also have on the system I had a possible allergic reaction to this antibiotic 10 years ago 🙃

That's quite curious that they say they couldn't find risks online - not sure if you've seen these, might be helpful for your decision making? (Sites I look at when considering medication). Also that is quite concerning about the possible previous allergic reaction.
