Solo-parenting and anxiety

I spent the weekend solo-parenting while my partner was away. This was the first time I was alone with my little one for so long and I had recurrent thoughts of “what if something happens to me, what if I die while I’m alone with her”. I haven’t had those kinds of thoughts at all otherwise. Has this type of sudden anxiety happened to anyone else?

I am solo parent (my LG dad has nothing to do with her) everytime my mum goes away for any length of time I panic big time. I have a few illness and always terrifies me if they flare up when she not here to come a collect my daughter. I think as mum's we think the worse, when I know if my mum hadn't had 2 facetimes of my daughter she would have someone round here in 2 mins to check on us and am sure your other half would be the same.

My partner works nights and I often think to myself what if I die in my sleep and my baby wakes in the middle of the night and nobody is there for her until 8am, I lose sleep sometimes, I do have a brain condition so when I have a headache I do refuse to sleep as I'm terrified, but intrusive thoughts like this are common when you have children, do you suffer with any other type of anxiety or just this one time?

Thanks for the replies both of you. Parenting in isolation - even when it’s not full time - is so hard, isn’t it?! @Kate I do suffer from anxiety but have found so far that it hasn’t really crept up in my mothering, but I guess the weight of responsibility suddenly caring for her on my own without my partner and with no family around felt like too much. I need to create my village x

Yes its very isolating and I struggled for months, I forced myself to go out everyday even if just a walk to the shops, just to break the day up a little bit, I also don't spend her nap time doing chores, as I'm solo parenting alone for 5 days I need that me time in the middle of the day so always make myself a cuppa and watch my series and just kinda reboot myself ready for the 2nd half of the day and it really does help
