Dinner after nursery pick up

How are you coordinating meals and bedtime after nursery pick up? I'm finding it hard to fit everything in unless I pick baby up at 5 sharp and that's not possible if I have a lot of work on!

I pick him up around 5.15. He has dinner there but when we get back he has some tea whilst we have our dinner. Then he has a little play whilst we clean up, then up for bath & bed. Bedtime is a little later on nursery days but it’s been working well for us x

We are picking up at 6pm as can't earlier and as soon as we get home we give him dinner. Last meal at nursery is at 3pm so it's a long time and he always eats everything at home. Then he watches tv for a while for the food to settle and then bedtime routine. Bedtime is around 8pm.

I’ve been picking up before 5 as not back to work until 2 weeks. I think I can send a meal in if I want in the evenings as realistically I won’t be there u til half 5 or after it. Not sure whether to do this or wait until we get home but then it’ll be nearer half 6 before he’s eating

Some of it probably depends on how many days a week they are at nursery. We only do 2 days atm. My partner gets back from work with the wee beast about 5.30. He gets a small bowl or porridge or wheatabix about 6pm (nursery dinner at 4.30ish, and he is always hungry when he gets back). I start cooking dinner after feeding beast but its always something quick e.g. pizza or a frozen batch cook from the weekend. Then bedtime routine of bath, milk and story starts 7/7.30 and asleep by 8 (bathtime is shorter the later we start so he is down by 8). Once I am back to work my partner will be doing all that solo as I won't get back from work until about 7pm (3 days a week).

I don't finish until 6pm so I pick my little one up go straight home and she's usually eating around 6.30. Her last meal at nursery is around 16.45 but it's only a light tea and she's always hungry and wants/eats and full 2 course meal at home. I try to do easy meals like pasta or meals I can prepare the night before, like a slow cooker meal or Shepherds pie (i put in the fridge and then cook in the oven when we get home). She eats what we eat. Then bath around 7.30 and bed by 8. It's a lot and it's hard work but it's working for us at the moment

Mine has dinner there, is that not an option?

Our baby has 3 meals at the nursery, 8:30 breakfast, 12:00 lunch and 15:00 tea. But going home at 18:00 he's hungry so have to give him food.
