Maternity Leave

At what week did everyone take maternity leave? I'm currently at 35 weeks, planning to work until 37 weeks, but with the swelling worsening this past week, I'm struggling. I might need to consider going on leave at 36 weeks. I'm not sleeping well, which makes it hard to get through the day too🫣

Last day tomorrow, I’m 34+4. With my first I worked up till 36 weeks but I’m just tired now! X

I went on maternity leave at nearly 36+3 weeks and looking back I should have gone a week earlier. Everyone is obviously different but I really needed to rest which I have been doing xx

I took maternity leave from 37 weeks but was on annual leave from 34 weeks for a babymoon x

I took mine at 35+6

I'm 37+ 5 and will be taking my maternity as soon as the baby arrives at 39 weeks, I'm.booked for the c section then. I want to have as much time as possible with the new baby before returning to work.

I can relate it is so hard to concentrate!! I'll be 38 weeks exactly when I start mine, but I do get to work from home, and it is a desk based job.

My last day working will be on Friday and I’ll be 39+1 x

I'll start annual leave at the end of this week, just before I turn 38 weeks. Maternity leave will kick off day after baby is born.

39 weeks

I’m 35+5 and today is my last day😊

I finish on Friday and I’ll be 38 weeks on Saturday!

I've just finished today. Took A/L for a month, and mat leave will start day she's due (22nd of October). I'm 36 weeks today xx

I started mat leave 3.5 weeks ago, I'm 37 weeks now

I finish Friday and will be 35+5 - I’m very ready to relax now!

38 I think. I was due June 10, she was born June 6 and I went on leave June 1. The last couple weeks were tough. I’m a hairstylist so standing on my feet for long stretches got really old after a while. What do you do for work? Is there anyway you can make some adjustments for your comfort while you finish out the rest of your time?

My last day at work this time around will be 37+2

I will be 36+3 when I finish! I wanted to do longer too, but my body has decided I'm done! Xx

My last day is this Friday, I will be 36 +3. I’ve taken 2 weeks leave and then start Mat leave. I am so ready!!

Last day is next Monday 🙌🏼🙌🏼 Surprised nobody is finishing off the month (for those who finishing this week) 👀😆 It seemed ideal for me to finish the month not to interfere with my payslip. I'll be 36+4 on the last day. Got 12 days annual leave and maternity starts on the 17th, unless baby is born earlier, then as said above maternity kicks in the day after baby is born and I will pray my employer will move the remaining AL for 2024 to next year.

@Gabi my last day is next Monday too! Then using 9 days annual leave before mat leave officially kicks in. It's getting very real now

I went off at about 33 weeks, month of annual leave then mat leave from about 37.

@Tanya Yaaaay 🤗 Not long to go! Quite surreal isn't it?

I’m going 36+5 :)

My last day will be 39+3 unless baby makes an appearance beforehand x

I was planning to stay until 37 weeks but ended up going early at 35. I was just too shattered with not sleeping and felt like I couldn’t get prepared. I only work an office job so wanted to stay as long as possible but had to listen to my body! X

38w+5d and still working… until 39w+6d

Due to be induced 39+3 working till 39+2

I took 3 and a bit weeks off as holiday from the beginning of September (think the 5th) mat leave has just kicked in and I'm 38 weeks today
