Tracking ovulation for the first time

Hi! This is the first time I’m tracking ovulation because I’m still breastfeeding my 9 month old and my period isn’t regular. Can someone tell me if this is common for the LH levels at the beginning of a cycle? I understood that the LH levels would be continuously raising but they’re all over the place. Many thanks for any tips or help you can give me! 😌

It's normal for them to fluctuate throughout the day (it's actually usually lowest first thing in the morning so recommended not to use FMU) and also throughout the cycle. Don't pay too much attention to the numbers for now. Some people get a gradual rise starting 7-5 days before peak, others peak really quickly in a day or so with very little warning. Hard to know when yours will be if period is not regular

@Charley oh, I had no idea that it didn’t have to be FMU. Is there a recommended time to test? Thanks so much for the information!

Often said to be higher in the afternoon, personally I always tested twice a day so SMU or mid morning, and then evening after dinner
