Potty training

Has anyone else started potty training? Can you give me some tips especially during bed time. How does potty training look like for your child?

we’re roughly starting, not forcing it but whenever she mentions “potty” we go sit (no luck yet) only focusing on daytime right now bc night accidents are inevitable until about the age of 5 we tried underwear during the day, pull ups at nap and bed she seems to pee way less and it’s been hard trying to time it out 🫠

Read the book "oh crap! Potty training" has really good advice. We started in August. Not really following the book because he's in daycare. Once he's home we follow as much as we can. He is going regularly on the potty when he wakes up in the morning. Also get anyone else who spends a good amount of time with/looks after your child to read it as well (ie. spouse, partner, nanny, grandparents). This way they can help out with the potty training

There are lots of different ways to get started with potty training, we did elimination communication and for my daycare kids (when I worked) we started adding sitting on the potty as a part of the diaper change routine (especially if they're dry) and get excited when they pee or poo eventually they will always be dry and go potty on their own

I second the book “Oh Crap! Potty Training”. We are struggling with the motor skill of pulling our pants up and down but other than that, we got it. He goes on his own without prompting and sometimes stays dry through naptime.
