Refusing milk after starting solids

Since starting solids at 6m, our LO has gone right off his milk. He was combi fed, majority BF with one bottle in the morning and one at night as advised by HV and GP. As soon as he was even having tiny tastes, he dropped his morning bottle, and the more he ate, the less milk he would take. Even offering milk before food and ensuring small portion sizes does not help. He also became uninterested in the boob and will feed for 1/2 minutes at a time max. Even first thing in the morning he will only feed for a couple of minutes. He eats well and I try to keep his diet varied (and also give multi vitamin), but all I keep seeing everywhere is 'food before 1 is just for fun' and people saying milk should still be the main source of nutrition. He is 8 months and I am lucky if he will BF for 10 minutes per day, or take even 8oz total... Is anyone else experiencing this? I keep trying and offering but he does not want it at all. Plenty of wet and dirty nappies, and he will sip water with meals.

Following as our LO is the exact same

My little one is 11 months and she was the same, she has porridge with half of her bottle in it on a morning then drinks the rest after and same with supper, just try to involve it in their meals xx

Thanks, I do try to sneak in extra milk where I can (readybrek, weetabix, porridge I'm the morning, or any creamy dinners/lunches) but the amount of people I see preaching how milk needs to be the primary source of nutrition is making me worried, but I don't know how else to get it into him if he flat out refuses!!

Going through the same thing

I am exactly in the same position as you, also i have to feed my baby milk while he sleeps or else no chance it’s tough

I'm so glad my LO isn't the only one! Thanks girls x
