No plans

I'm almost 39 weeks. FTM. Never done this before... And there's no "plan". Like I feel like I'm just waiting for nature to take it's course. Is this normal? I've worked in a medical setting before which I appreciate is very different to having a baby as that's so natural. But a medical setting there's always a plan A B and C. I'm seeing my community midwife next week (at 39+4), and wondered when things like inductions/c-sections will be discussed. I'm "high risk" due to BMI xx

I was a paramedic and delivered babies, but as a FTM myself I have no clue 😂 My brith plan is whatever is safe, I’ll be guided by the midwife’s The only thing I don’t want is forceps but if it comes to it then it’s needed so be it I want delayed cord clamping but if it’s not safe to do then I won’t force it. I’m high risk due to age, BMI and other health conditions and have been told that if I don’t go into labour naturally then they’ll look at induction but that’s no different than anyone else. If they have concerns that you’d need to be induced or c-sections they would have advised you about it before now. But baby’s decide so whatever plans ladies have it could all change, so my plan is go with the flow lol xx

I'm definitely happy for baby to arrive when they do, but I feel a bit on my own. As though I need someone to check on me haha! Baby is measuring big too, so I don't want to go too much over incase it's the point of no return for my lady bits 😂😂

im 38w today and i’m the same as you. i’m very much go with the flow, whatever happens happens. 🤣 no plan and just waiting for nature to take it’s course like you’ve said. x

@Hannah I'm not really sure I like just leaving it to nature 😂. I want someone to tell me when things are going to happen haha xx
