Anxiety

I am always anxious about the baby’s movement. I already went twice last month and I always want my baby checked. How do you handle this? Yesterday my baby was super active. Today I can’t feel her at all and I woke up on my back so I really don’t know whether I should head to triage or not.

You absolutely need to ring triage without a second thought - any change to babies pattern of movement particularly at this stage of pregnancy is always worth checking out. Please never feel like you’re a burden, it is literally what they are there for at triage to provide you with the care and assistance you need x

Always worth calling triage! Depending how far you are it may be hard to feel baby’s movements and they may still be figuring out their pattern. Her movements can also be influenced by yours e.g you’re having a quieter day you may notice kicks more often but less regular then when you’re having a busier day. Don’t worry about waking up on your back, if baby isn’t happy they’ll wake you up/encourage your body to move. Saying that, there is no harm at all to call triage if you’re worried, better to be safe then sorry

I have days where I don't feel him at all and get super worried. But then next day he is full of absolute beans.. I guess go with your gut feeling too because remember there isn't a lot of wiggle room I'm there anymore too xc

If you don’t feel your baby move at all you must go in! My first baby was born by emergency c section because I went in with reduced movements. The midwife who came to see me in the recovery room said I saved his life. Simple as that. I’m 33 weeks with my second and have such anxiety about movements, some days they are more active than others so it’s really hard to tell
