Hello, my toddler has been doing independent playing since little. And it’s good for them to be bored because that makes space for imagination-also if I’m busy doing some tasks I’m trying to get him involved. We don’t overstimulate him with bunch of toys, we also alternate between them. Once or twice a day we take him outside. And some time during the day we watch a movie together.

I have lots of toys! Before we did it so to keeo him occupied we added toys all over, he used to just play in his room with toys so that helped. We have a sun room so on the window in there we have little gadgets and things he can suction there and play with. And i usually just focus on me during nap time or when he is very focused on his busy board or something

I have our living space set up super kid friendly with toys in different areas (which we rotate every week or two), and I try to get us outside on walks or for playing in the yard. And then I just try to encourage my kids to play on their own or together, I usually have to cook or prepare food some while they are awake so I include them as much as makes sense. For instance my 3-year-old helps set the table for snacks and meals and then I usually set them down to crack eggs when needed or let them mix a big bowl. Like if I can involve them in my activity I do but sometimes I don't and it is fine to wait on that part or just get them set up building towers or coloring for a bit. But I am a SAHM but my husband comes home around 4 so I think I am pretty lucky that he is home earlier and I find with naps it is pretty manageable.

My twins are 4 now, so I can put them in their rooms for a while so I can have a coffee. They still nap a few times a week so I get alone time then, as well. We keep toys on rotation so they stay pretty focused and interested in whatever toys K have available for them throughout the week, too. It’s like a party every time we rotate haha

I rotate the toys once a week, try to have him follow me whichever room I'm moving into for my chores. he will find something to entertain himself like random house objects and I let him explore as long as it's nothing dangerous obviously. My son isn't the type to sit down for anything for long periods more than a couple minutes so he's happy moving around the house getting into whatever he can. I just keep the house as safe as possible. He enjoys books a lot so I read to him often or whenever he brings me a book.
