First Birthday Party!

Who else is throwing a party for their baby? I’ve never hosted or done anything like this before and I’m getting quite stressed about it. I’ve hired a hall and a softplay and then going to preorder some sandwiches and food and sweet treats. I’ve also got all the decor like balloons and a sailboard, table cloths all the cutlery, crockery etc. I wasn’t going to have any alcohol at the party but now I’m worried people will be upset if there’s none? Just trying to save on costs. Is there anything I’ve missed. Will people just chat? What about singing happy birthday and giving out cake will I have to gather everyone or can I just not do it? So many questions TIA 🤣🙏🏼

To be fair, I have taken my eldest to a few birthday parties & there's never been alcohol. If you've hired a hall, then you'll probably have access to a kettle & adults are quite happy to have a drink of tea or coffee. So please don't think that you'll need alcohol. Also, a lot of parents may possibly need to drive their children to the party as well.

We are because my partner has a big family and we only live in a small flat. We've organised the same. But definitely no alcohol because it's a babys 1st birthday, it's not a piss up. It's a special get-together. We'll have background music, people can socialise and then half hour to end will do cake xxx

I think you've got everything covered. Do get a photo of you holding baby at the cake! You deserve that. I'm sure people will chat don't worry. I'm doing it at a soft play centre which sorts out the food lol so just bringing cake napkins some purree. Don't know about music have to ask them it might be too loud in there anyway
