😳 Yikes. Let her know that you’re not happy. Tell her she has shown that she cannot be trusted with private information from now on and you are disappointed as you felt like you could trust her.
Thanks girls I’ll speak to my partner. She announced my pregnancy before me too so it just feels like she’s trying to take everything special away from my pregnancy and make it about her. I’ve tried to speak to her about it before but she’s very childish and treats me like I’m a surrogate and she’s going to have my child with her all the time. It’s making me worried for when she’s here 😩
I had this, my scan photo was shared on social media I didn’t even want it on there so immediately told my bf to tell her to take it down! X
100% inappropriate and if clear and understandable boundaries aren't set now, it's not going to get better after the baby is here. I'm talking from experience.
Yep, the key is having your partner on the same page and presenting a united front with united boundaries. It helped us loads! Tbh before LO was born I felt so anxious that MIL would just overstep and take over constantly, but the reality hasn't been half as bad as I feared and I really put that down to having my fiancé in my corner! I also agree with @Hopeful. She has shown she cannot be trusted with private information, so simply don't share any in future. Good luck!
Did you tell her not to say anything and it could’ve been an honest mistake? Otherwise nope nope nope. Address it with her otherwise you’re going to start getting resentful. My MIL called family members and told them I was pregnant after we specifically told her not to and I was LIVID!

Ugh nip that right in the bud! Make sure your husband is on the same page, and as she is his family, he should be setting those firm boundaries. So out of order, and 'being excited about the baby' is not an excuse. She is a grown adult, not a child who can't control her own excitement.
