Late PPD?

When my son was born, I went through a rough time with PP anxiety. Around 5 months in I stopped taking my medication because it felt like a chore, and I was feeling better! Now all the sudden the last month, 4 months later, I feel like I’m struggling again, but in a different way. It’s hard to take care of myself, I don’t feel like eating, I just wanna cry all the time. I’m not sure if late postpartum depression is a thing, or if at a certain point it’s just considered depression. I really would prefer to not go on medication, but I feel as though understanding what I may be going through will help me? Can anyone relate?

Are you able to try therapy? They could hopefully help you get to the root of the problem ❤️

I had PPD my biggest mistake was I chose to get off it I suffer from epilepsy so I though the less the better I had to stay on anti convulsants But the dosage was dropped to a safe place I was fine during pregnancy Apart from mood swings And " pregnancy sickness"🤣 morning sickness my ass ! It was all day ,hence my sarcastic nickname Anyway PPD can be dark I was there in "a dark place" For a real long time And yes it can go up and down My sister after my nephew was born went .how do I put this ...numb .detached. cold For a very ,very long time ( yrs) I was able to get back to myself sooner ,I was a real mess for atleast a yr Go see your local dr.... Or seek therapy.... Medication, if you feel that's right for you

It’s definitely a thing. Go see your doctor, so a full blood panel (make sure it includes your vitamin D levels, progesterone and estrogen levels) and see if there’s any hormonal imbalance or deficiencies. And if you need to get on meds, then do so. Take care of yourself! Therapy is also a good option and postpartum.net got great resources as well as support groups
