Newborn and a toddler

This is HARD. Really struggling to mommy rn. Im angry most of the time, feeling really sad, and everyday now feels like an endless loop of insanity. I am sooooo tired i dont want to sleep anymore, because it feels like i am not meant to have a moment of peace. And time feels like it has just stopped. 💔💔💔

Sounds like you really really need a good rest. Can someone take both kids while you go to bed early?

I think you were the one that said we have kids similar ages, 18 months and newborn. Girl, I feel you. This is exhausting and it’s so hard to be patient with a toddler when you have zero energy. We will find our rhythm, the sleepless night stage won’t last forever ❤️ I hope you have someone who can help give you a break for sleep and self care and some yummy food to yourself. That’s what helps me

just want to say, i feel you and you’re not alone! this IS hard. i’m only 4 days pp and miss being an active mom to my toddler. who’s around you that can help? can someone come take your toddler to the park? we just asked family to sign up for play dates for the next few weeks.

It’s so tough, having a 24 month old, (we just turned 2) and 7-day old… 😵‍💫 the first time around I was so anxious and nervous, the second time around i was more excited for the newborn stage but it feels impossible to enjoy bc the newborn crying paired with a toddler toddlering feels like insanity. My husband is struggling too, it’s so different with a toddler in the mix. 😮‍💨

@Ellen my mom let me rest last night, OMG i did not realize how insanely drained and tired i've been. I got 5 hours of sleep and it felt like 12 lol

@Alyssa girl YES. Thank god for my mom and my hubby, mamas cooking makes me feel so cozy and warm. And hubby is a chef. I have completely lost my appetite with the stress of keeping newborn alive and my toddler fed and entertained. Come 7 p.m. and i still havent eaten. Just one coffee after another. This will pass though. How are you able to keep up your appetite and to enjoy your meals? I really need to eat to make milk and to regain my energy😭

@Emily my mom is the only one really and she has been A HUGE HELP. since i gave birth and now 12 days pp, she just went home today cause i MADE HER leave, she needs to sleep more than 3 broken hours and regain her strength too. My toddler is ALOTTTT of work. She has taken over it almost entirely so i can focus on the baby.

@Nikki yessssss up is down down is up. What is what? Who knows 😂😂

@Aina🇵🇸🍉 I have been living off of these lactation cookies I make once per week and just keep in the fridge, my appetite comes and goes but I don’t have time to eat either way 😂😂 I’ll put the recipe in the comments in case you want it!

Hey! I have a 13 month old and a 3 week old. It is TOUGH and feel every word of what you’re saying. Just trying to hang in there myself and hoping it gets better we are really strong 🩷

@Alyssa i have been making mexican atole de avena and it's helped too, id rather drink my food since i had the baby. And i eat dark chocolate all day🫣

@S Y we really are. Even at our weakest, we find a way to keep going. This is definitely harder than i expected. I am holding my breath because my toddler (18 months) has been nothing but sweet and understanding towards my 2 week old. He even lets go when he experiences jealousy, he moves on real quick and his tantrums are very short and sweet lol. I hope this remains the case. Is your 13 month old independantly walking yet? And how's your newborn's sleep?

My toddler has also been so loving towards baby I really didn’t expect his affection. It’s the most heartwarming thing to see and definitely makes me feel better in some sense. No he’s not walking yet, he’s taking a few steps but mainly still cruising so you can imagine how difficult that can be too! My newborn tends to be up every 3 hours so currently 6:30am here and has been up since 5 just wide awake!
