Making baby food

My baby just turned 6 months old and I don’t know where to start or how to start feeding my child. I’m excited and overwhelmed. Any tips? Does everything have do be mixed with milk(breast milk/ formula)?

I started off mixing with formula until I felt comfortable enough to make it with the cooking liquid (water) or for meats broth. Please message me if you have any questions, I make all of my daughters food

I really recommend the book How to wean your baby by Charlotte Stirling-Reed. it’s got ‘the first ten days’ how to prepare really good introductory vegetables. We borrowed it from the library - most libraries have it i think!

Honestly, I tried with breast milk at first but my daughter didn’t like it so I either just pureed on its own or added water dependent on what I’m giving her

When she was 6 months I started with mashed bananas mixed with breast milk. Then gradually started making different types of purées. I usually just feed her milk throughout the day and give her purée for dinner. Like pumpkin, potato, carrots and spinach. Also try oatmeal or porridge in the morning

I also recommend this cookbook The Complete Baby and Toddler... https://www.amazon.com/dp/1492677671?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
