They make kids lazy

Some learning video games might but overall I'd say no

Alrighty so I would say most video games have educational value. Simulation games can tech almost anything. Word, point and click, look and find, and other puzzle games are good for keeping the brain active. Platforming games can teach pattern recognition, improve reaction time, and encourage memorization. RPGs teach pattern recognition, strategy, and planning. Online games teach social skills and cooperation.

Ofc gaming can’t take the place of reading or studying but to say it is meritless or mind numbing is far from true. I think it’s better than watching tv because it requires interaction. And ofc some games are just for relaxation but there are definitely some with educational value.

Minecraft is probably the only educational game out there. It can teach coding, mechanics, and a lot of other cool things. But that the only game i would say is educational

I think video games are educational but it should not replace anything and it should not be played often. I look at it as a hobby which is something you do in your free time. If it becomes anything more than that then it is no longer healthy.

@Becky No, they don’t. If a child is lazy, video games aren’t the cause of it. I played video games my entire childhood and now, it’s never affected anything. Same with everyone else I know who actually plays games, just like any other hobby. It’s a personal decision to be lazy and not influenced by anything imo.
