DMSA

Hi all, my 14 month old is booked in for a DMSA tomorrow, literally had a call today for a cancellation so got him in straight away! Now I am super nervous, what's everyone's experience with their little ones having a DMSA and any tips? The email contained a leaflet about oral sedation and the lady who called did mention that he may be sedated, in a way I'm glad for this as my son is a bit of a wild cracker and wouldn't appreciate having to stay still 😬 x

My LG was about the same age, we didn't have any info on sedation but we were toldnif we wanted numbing cream to be applied to come slightly earlier. When we went we were told that due to her age they wouldn't do the cream. She had the injection into her foot (everyone struggles with her arms). It was taken back out afterwards and we were sent away for I think 2 hours then came back for the actual scan. She had to lie down in the machine which came down quite close to her body, we had brought a tablet with Moana downloaded on it which kept her occupied but it was also awkward to hold it in place for her to see it. After a while she came back out and the machine turned sideways and she went back again. She hates being still but she did so well while it was being done. Straight after she was fine and happy x
