How’s everyone feeling about labour?

I sometimes get so excited that it really can be anytime now but then I’m like oh… labour🤣 FTM and I’m not necessarily scared but I am just so curious as to what my experience is going to be like! How’s everyone else feeling?

Scared as I'm being induced on the 3rd October my doctor said in my circumstances I may be in labour for 12 hours 😔

I'm feeling really excited anf looking forward to it. Planning a home birth xxx

I’m quite excited. I loved labour with my firstborn and I’m looking forward to doing it again and the magic of meeting my baby 💓

Really excited and positive about it. On the other hand freaked the fuck out from postpartum 🤣🙈🙈😬😬😬👀

Absolutely terrified, sends me into a panic attack just thinking about it😕 I’ve always had a huge fear of dying in childbirth

I’ve got a c-section booked which is really scary but I’m just focusing on the fact that I’m going to meet my babies. And not being pregnant anymore is sounding good right now 😂

Absolutely terrified, not so much about labour but in case I throw up because I have severe emetophobia and I didn’t realise it was common for women in labour to be sick until the other day so I’m freaking out about that 😭

Excited and very Nervous

Mixed feelings - I didn’t have the best experience with my first (failed induction, forceps/episiotomy) and am weirdly excited to have a more positive experience this time around but of course am scared that the same thing could happen again.

I'm looking forward to it! Excited to meet this new human and Excited to see my body bring new life

@Anna I could’ve written this! X

@Dana I also suffer with emetophobia, but wasn't sick in my first pregnancy! Also, if you do feel sick, are sick, they can give you anti nausea medication through a drip! Try not to let that worry you about labour xx

@Sam that’s good to know! Yesss I’ve asked for the anti sickness injection in my birth plan but just worried that by the time I get to the hospital it’ll be too late for them to administer it but will just have to see what happens 🫣 I’m trying to not worry too much, thank you xx

@Linda having a long labour in mind maybe think about some things to pack that can help with your experience to make it as comfortable as possible - best of luck for the 3rd 🙏🏽

@Jemma-Lee wow! how exciting 😍

@Gabi the mixed emotions are real right now!🤣 take each day as it comes!

@Lydia oh babe that’s really intense I’m sorry! Have you spoken to your midwife about how you’re feeling? I do hope you find something to make your mind more at ease about the thought of childbirth. You’re definitely not alone with your fears!

@Aimee honestly pregnancy is an amazing experience but I feel you with feeling so ready to meet our babies! Wishing you the best of luck with your c-section ❤️

@Dana I’m sorry to hear that! That is so understandable given your fear. I really hope it all goes smoothly for you ❤️

@Anna that’s understandable! I’m glad you’re thinking positive and feeling more excited! I do hope your experience is better than your first ❤️ best of luck

@Sandrine amazing 🥺❤️

@Dana do you have any anti sickness medication you can take before you even go into hospital if you're that worried? Might be worth asking the midwife / doctor. I was given cyclazine in both my pregnancies, I wasn't sick in either, pregnancy or labour. But my doctor could see how petrified I was and thought it would help me even physiologically just to know it was there! Good luck!! X

i'm so excited! i absolutely loved labour and birth with my first, it felt so magical and special. the only bit of stress i have is around leaving my almost 2 year old and not knowing how long we will be gone for etc xx

@Sam yes luckily I have got cyclizine so I suppose I can take that if I really need to, just didn’t think it would work and I thought I’d need something stronger tbh 🙈 but if I get to that point I will be taking some for sure, anything to stop it haha! Thank you! Xx
