Glucose test

Has anyone else failed the 1 hour glucose test and had to take the 3 hour test. I'm just curious about what the results were. My first one was only slightly abnormal, so I'm hoping this one is fine. I go in about an hour, so we will see. I just wanted to get some ideas of what everyone else experienced.😁

I’m in the exact same boat as you and still waiting on my appointment. Following this to see what others say!

This happened to me currently have 10 minutes left of my 3 hour so we will see...

I just took the 3 hour last week. I had to fast from midnight until the time of the test. I was scheduled at 8:15 that morning. The first hour I was so jittery and almost vomited. But I passed so that’s done.

Walking in to take the three hour now. It's sort of like taking an expanded 1 hr test. You do have to fast so it's a good idea to start it first thing so your fasting is overnight. I'm not expecting to pass since I had gd with my first pregnancy but it is pretty common to pass the 3 hr even after failing the 1 hr. There are really good support groups out there if you are diagnosed. I'm in a gd group here on peanut and one on Facebook. There's often a little bit of a gap between diagnosis and getting instructions from your Dr/ob. So the support groups can be really helpful in that one between

Meant to do it today but oops. So I'll go in on Thursday

My previous pregnancy I failed the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour. They took my blood when I got there to get a fasting measurement, then drew my blood once every hour after drinking the same glucose drink. Still waiting for the results from my 1 hour this pregnancy 😬

I did not pass my 1 hour, but I did pass my 3 hour. Good luck mama!

Any tips for the 3 hour?

if you live further from your ob's office bring a snack for after. My 30 min trip home was awful because of how hungry I was.

@Iryna you really don’t have to do anything different than the 1 hour test, unless you didn’t have to fast for the 1 hr (you have to fast from midnight for the 3 hour like Niko and Miriam said). Watch your carb and fruit intake the day before as well as that can affect you the next day. I was allowed water but I’ve heard some places don’t allow any so I would see if you can find out beforehand. But you have to take sips of the water as it can mess with the test as well. And don’t chug the glucose drink!! It’ll make you feel so sick

@Miriam Can you point me in the direction of the group on here? I failed my 3 hour this morning.

That happened to me with my first and then again when I tested early this pregnancy, 1st trimester. I had to tests again at 24 weeks and wound up failing. But failing the 1hr and passing the 3hr is very common. You’ve got this mama!

I go tomorrow morning for the 3 hour.

(my 1hr and 2he numbers were great from my 3hr but my fasting was high. Trying to figure out if that was thrown off by the toddler waking up a gazillion times last night or accidentally eating crumbs while trying to get him to eat this morning)

Yep, I’m waiting for scheduling to call so I can do my 3 hour test this week 😕

Just did my 3 hour today. I recommend bringing water and sipping on it because that’s the only thing that kept the nausea at bay for me since it helps to dilute how sugary everything was

@Aja for me if we drank any water during it was an automatic fail

I Failed the 1 hour test (my number was 166), and then I passed the 3 hour test. 🩵

@Diana really?! I was told to sip on water to try and not get sick lol either way I failed the 3 hour

@Aja I was told absolutely nothing till after and I had to fast for 8hrs prior minimum
