On the email I had, it said get in touch if you haven't heard off them by 10 weeks, but I heard back in 2 days.

I know how you feel. It feels like limbo when you don't know anything and haven't had any medical confirmation. I ended up calling the hospital (Luton & Dunstable) as I wanted some advice for travelling and it's then that she told me it would be 4 weeks before I heard from them because they have so many people to go through. It actually helped my anxiety being given a timeframe. It may also help you to just call them and ask them how long to expect to wait and to get the number for your community midwife should you need any advice before your first appt.

@Nadia sorry if this sounds dumb but who do I chase up? How do I find the number for the correct unit

@Sadiya did you just ring up the hospital and ask to speak to the midwife team?

@Hannah when I self reffered there was a number on there that you call if you want to refer by phone or if you haven't heard form them in 15 days you ring that number. I didn't know where I was ringing, turns out it was the antenatal ward. The lady who picked up then gave me the number for the community midwife in my area, they work out of a small clinic near me. What hospital have you referred to? I'll try and find a phone number for you x

@Sadiya I am under Brighton royal Sussex. I am useless at this. Thank you so much for trying to help lovley I really appreciate it x

@Hannah okay I'll see what I can find! And no worries at all, here to help x

@Hannah this is number I found online to self refer at Royal Sussex County Hospital +44 (0)1273 696955. I would start here, ask them if they can tell you how long roughly til they get back to you and if they know the number for your local community midwife incase you need to ask for advice before your appt

@Sadiya you’re amazing! Thank you so much will call them today :) xx

@Hannah no problem! Good luck x

I've been waiting 5 days so far

Where I’m from you sign up to my pregnancy registry the new pregnancy, shortly you’d be signed a midwife who would contact you from your local area in the next few days. Normally don’t get seen until you reach the 8-10 weeks phrase once you get to that many weeks they will call you and you’ll get referred for a scan afterwards 2/3 weeks based on how close you are until 12 weeks x

It depends where you are but I’m meeting the midwife at 8 weeks got appointments through after a few days. I remember not a lot happens but they talk about wellbeing and check you’re having folic acid, not drinking or smoking, check you’re safe etc.
