How many accidents is 'normal' on first few days potty training? Also. How often should you encourage your wee one to use toilet?

It depends on the child some won’t have any and some will have lots to begin with With my youngest I reminded her in the morning, after breakfast, before a nap, after lunch, after tea and before bed But she had access all day to the potty and soon got used to taking herself

In the first few days you can expect many accidents but I used to take her every 15min to avoid accidents and make her sit in for 5 min and avoid talking just let her sit if not she will say it’s not there and tell her once you do it you will get something nice I give her a sticker even when she didn’t do and I said next time you go you get more things and it works she did it next time and every time I give her something different candy ,sticker which you will give only when she does it you tell that you have to hold and call mommy mommy I want to go toilet and it works it takes 3 days and she start going

Sorry to jump on. My son has had a massive set back. So trained fully with nothing on, moved on to underpants and then trousers and underpants. He was doing so good, telling us he needed to go etc. But now he's just having accident after accident when I put underpants on. Fully trained with nothing on and takes himself off to toilet with no accidents. I've set a timer to every 20 mins to remind him with pants on but he will refuse to go, I say OK but we need to keep pants dry. Let mammy know. Then 5 mins later he will have an accident but not that bothered. Everyone says just go at your child's pace but it's soooo hard. We've bought boxers to try as someone said their son was so much better in them than the underpants. So here's hoping. One stressed mama and I know I shouldn't xx
