My period came early again 😭

I thought for sure we had done it this time. I tested LH consistently, and we nailed the timing. Two days ago, I started having very light spotting (8dpo). That lasted that whole day and through yesterday - very light, pink/brown spotting with no cramping. Overnight last night (today is 10dpo) my period started. I wasn't expecting it until Saturday, and I'm devastated. Last cycle, my period came at 6dpo, accompanied by a lot of pain, so this is an improvement, but it's just so frustrating. I feel like there's no chance for an embryo to implant. Has anyone else gone through this? We've only been officially trying for 4 months, but that's just because my period didn't come back until almost 17 months postpartum. We've really been trying for almost a year, and we got pregnant first try with our 20mo, so we're both really having a hard time with this.

Hey, I had something similar, please send me a message if you like :)

Hey! Some people with a short cycle don’t have long enough for the lining to thicken for the embryo to implant. There’s medications that can put off ovulation to make sure the timing works. Have you reviewed anything With your doctor?

What is your cycle length like overall? Definitely sounds like your luteal phases are too short, I believe anything less than 9 days between ovulation and the start of your next menses is considered abnormal/too short.

I have really long cycles, not really short cycles. My cycle this time was 37 days with a 9 day luteal phase. The last cycle was 31 days with a 5 day luteal phase. The one before that was 39 days but I wasn't tracking ovulation so I don't know how long that luteal phase was. I haven't talked to my doctor about it yet because I've only had a few cycles since my baby was born, so I'm so worried all they're going to do is tell me it's because my cycle hasn't regulated yet.
