What age should you start potty training?

For boys how do you know they're ready?

We started introducing sitting on the potty at 7months old cause I had the time LOL. Now he’s 20 months & will pee or try to any time he’s sat on a toilet. I don’t believe there’s such a thing as starting too early; but there is definitely such a thing of having too high of expectations if you start early

18-24 months is actually crazy😂

Started elimination communication at 6 months. Currently in potty training mode at 18months, but she's been out of daytime diapers since she was 14-15 months old. So it depends on you what ur willing to do and your child's temperament

So when they are ready when they are showing interest. So introduce the idea whenever. Have it around for them to get used to. But most children don't have the physical ability to identify when they need to go and hold it until 2 years. Sometimes longer. Nighttime usually takes longer. Signs of being ready is waking up dry fairly consistently.

When your kid is ready and it'll be easier for everyone. Boy/girl it doesn't matter. Ready is when they stay dry for longer periods of time, hide to poop or tell you before/right after, show general interest. My oldest didn't show many textbook signs of readiness, but was obsessed with the toilet and anatomy so we trained him.

I potty trained right before he turned three it was easy and he was willing to learn and catch on within a weekend. I tried for a week when he was 2 and he did not want to at all and I was so frustrated. When they are ready it’ll be easy

Where I'm from everybody potty trains latest around 1yr. As soon as the child sits you put them on the potty. It works for everyone, has worked for generations 🙌🏼 The idea behind doing it earlier is that you NEVER want to get to a stage when child realizes what poo is and starts being ashamed or hiding. You want them to be excited and have fun. All pediatritions recommend this as well. Another huge pro is the money saved on nappies and obviously ecologic as no more nappies 🙌🏼🙌🏼 It is interesting though. I have lived in England for 9yrs and see here it works completely different and people seem to struggle big time potty training. So every country and culture really is different. You have to do what works for you as a family and ignore the majority.

They will let you know! I feel like I tried to early and tried to push it on my son when he wasn’t ready, I started at 1 and a half and he’s now 3 and still will not poop on the potty and idk what to do about it. With my second I have decided to take a different approach, he says he has to pee and will point to the bathroom and so I take him but if he don’t mention it I won’t take him (he’s gonna be 2 in December) but after his birthday I’m gonna actually start the potty training process! Good luck with it though it can be tough but it’s new to both of you just remember to keep patience and to remind them accidents happen and it’s ok that they do!
