Flying

Hi, does anyone have any experience flying whilst in early pregnancy? How did it go?

London to Bali. Bali to Melbourne. Melbourne to London. Grand.

Yes flew few times in early pregnancy, it was fine. Make sure to rest plenty and drink plenty water 💧 😴 😉 👌 🙂

Yes - 4.5 hour flight x2 at 16 weeks pregnant. I wore compression socks and asked for a seat belt extender. Due to fatigue it wasn't my most favourite airport experience!

Ditto to the above but I got an extra couple of sick bags as was already nauseous

I flew to Crete at 28 weeks and flew back at 32 was all fine I know that’s not early pregnancy but maybe a bit of reassurance

I did twice in early first trimester and early second trimester! Not too different than when you fly while not pregnant tbh. Just make sure you keep drinking and take some snacks with you

I flew quite late in my pregnancy (32 weeks) but might still be useful. I opted for an aisle seat so I didn't have the discomfort of climbing over people to get to the loo. Lots of water and snacks. Took a little fan too just incase it was warm and the one above your head doesn't work! Compression socks and also walking up/down the aisle a handful of times xxx

I flew to Greece at 12 weeks pregnant and it was fine. Just keep hydrated and try to move a few times during the flight, especially if you’re taking a longer flight! X

thankyou everyone this reassurance really helps 🥰x

How early is early? I was 4 weeks when I flew (found out whilst on holiday) ☺️

I flew at 6 weeks. I was super nervous but all was fine! I just felt a little nauseous

Plenty of water and move as much as possible! Had no issues and flew up to 30 weeks. At a later pregnancy wore compression socks.

I found out on holiday so was 4 weeks when I flew out and 6 when I flew back. On the way back I asked to be patted down rather than go through the scanner but that was probably me being a bit paranoid. Felt fine!

I flew to France at 7 weeks pregnant, was fine but felt quite dizzy and nauseous. Flew to Canada at 18 weeks pregnant and was no different to flying not pregnant.
