Big Purchases

Have you checked if anyone is giving them away or selling for cheap? Might help the budget ☺️ we're getting married in October first, then take the rest of the third tri to acquire things

Brought all mine around the 18-20 week mark

The only big thing I’ve purchased so far was that I have ordered and paid for the pram and travel system, and this was only yesterday (24+3). I am not going to get nursery furniture until about 35 weeks xx

I'm going to see if there's any good black Friday deals! Although that seems like ages away. We've already bought nursery furniture though x

We did our big shop at around 20 weeks but the delivery time is taking forever - over 2 months!

Jesus! I’ve jus looked back on my timeline With my first I had ordered the pram when I was 18 weeks 20 weeks when I had the snuzpod and formula machine 22 weeks when nursery was complete and decorated 27 weeks when I had all clothes washed organised and hung up in the wardrobe 32 weeks when snuzpod went into my room I’m 22 weeks nearly and haven’t done anything 😂😂😂😂😂

We’ve been buying bits and pieces from 20 or so weeks. Went to John Lewis, Mamas & Papas to see what bits we wanted/needed and have been looking on Facebook marketplace & eBay to see if anyone is selling 2nd hand. Bought most things 2nd hand so far. Some things I won’t for hygiene reasons (mattresses, bottles etc) but you save a huge amount!! And most of the stuff we’ve got looks brand new anyway. X

Bought the travel system around 18 weeks just to get it done, and I’m glad I did as the delivery was delayed and I’m still waiting! We’re moving house start of November so waiting until then to get the nursery furniture, but I’ve already got it picked out. Due 9th of January so got time.

We’re buying everything end of oct, building in nov, ready for baby due 12th of jan

We started buying after the 20 week scan once we knew everything seemed to be ok. My husband and I are both planners though so we wanted to get things done as soon as possible. We're also buying everything used (except car seat and mattresses) so we started watching for bargains on eBay and FB Marketplace early so as not to miss them. We have all our big stuff now, just got a few smaller bits to go.

We got nursery furniture about 9 weeks but only because I was trying to convince my husband we can get some excellent quality stuff second hand... And then I saw a solid oak three piece set for £200 and I just didn't want to miss it! Travel system we ordered at about 15 weeks (we don't pick it up until November though) as my friend waited until 24 and they kept pushing her delivery back and she didn't actually get it until 36 weeks and she gave birth at 38!

Have stuff in baskets not bought anythyhg yet will do it in November x

I'm looking at buying the pram next week when I'll be 23 weeks, I'm in no rush

Booked our John Lewis appointment at 21+2 for after our scan and bought the travel system the next day (found a deal on marketplace, new, so took it - happy to get it off our minds). Planning and researching other items now while we’re in the mood and the advice from the appointment is fresh in our minds - waiting for discount periods and deals to then buy 😊
