Insulin Question...Help!

Hi! 35 weeks pregnant. Gestational diabetes. I took a shot of quick acting insulin about 40 minutes ago..... and now I'm realizing I'm due for my long acting insulin shot. Is it OK to take it now? I can't seem to find a clear answer on the internet. Is it too close together? I'm assuming it's fine, but just thought I'd see if anyone knows. Thanks!!

I’m not a Dr. but no, I wouldn’t do it. I did quick acting 2 hours before my bedtime last weekend and it ended up sending me to the ER because it got down to 44 overnight and nearly sent me into shock. 😣😢 I’d say skip the evening. All the Dr.’s told me it’s better to have a few highs than dangerous lows at this point in the pregnancy.

Thank you so much. I'll avoid for tonight!

You can normally take your long acting at the same time as your short acting as far as I know. My other half is a T1D and injects often enough that the two cross over all the time. Not a doctor of course so check with yours but in my experience it’s fine. They get released in totally different ways so should affect your short acting.
