IUI to IVF?

Hi! My wife and I are currently on our 3rd round of IUI. If this is unsuccessful we are switching to IVF. Did anyone else make the switch? How long did you wait before starting IVF?

I did. After 2 failed IUIs, we decided to move on to IVF

I did 3 IUI's and 2 rounds of IVF to get my LO.

4 failed rounds of IUI and then my hubby and I moved to IVF and worked first time and I was older and our daughter is 13 months

We skipped iui s all together

We moved to ivf after 3 miscarriages and 3 failed iuis. Moved after iui straight to ivf for the next month

We didn’t do IUI, we went straight to ICSI and it worked first round Wishing you all the best

Ive read a lot lately about acupuncture fertilty tea and tinctures may be worth looking at

3 failed IUI and one round canceled as I didn’t respond. Consented to IVF beginning of July and had my retrieval end of October. We got started right away but there were lots of steps. Additional blood work and paper work, then a class. Then birth control. Retrieval just before Halloween and FET Jan 3. Baby born mid sept.

We did 2 IUIs last year, November & December. Both failed, so we took a month off before switching to IVF in Feb. 2 rounds of ICSI in Feb & April, and was able to go ahead with our first FET in May ☺️

3 failed iui cycles. Had the ivf consultation a months later. I started stims yesterday for a “freeze all”cycle. My FET will be in January due to a really late post ER consultation (end of November) and travel plans in December.

I wish I never done uiu. IVF worked for us after 5 failed uius

@Jane i totally agree with you on that.. i felt like the IUIs were a waste time. But im currently in my first IVF cycle and looking forward to our rainbow baby

@Patrice awww amazing. hopefully it works really fast for you xoxo

@Jane thank you

We did 1 IUI and were told that due to hubby’s sperm sample that it was highly likely it wouldn’t work. So they moved us straight on to IVF after that. 3 egg collections and 5 transfers (and multiple tests which all came back clear) later and I am 33 weeks pregnant! IVF can be a marathon but we def wouldn’t be pregnant without it

After 2 failed IUI we switched to IVF. Did 3 rounds of failed IVF and switched back to IUI and I finally got pregnant from IUI but unfortunately lost the baby but it has nothing to do with IUI or IVF. Now doing IVF again and failed again.

After 2 rounds of IUI we moved to IVF

We skipped IUI and went straight to IVF/ICSI , our second round was successful (Fresh transfer)

Our baby girl turns 8 months next week !

We didn't do iui either we also went straight to ICSI and it worked 1st time

Tbh I don’t know why IUI is even offered as a meaningful option for folks. Success rates are so low and by the time you complete multiple cycles, you are starting to inch towards the cost of ivf. Personally, I did (and regretted) three unsuccessful IUI cycles before immediately starting the process for IVF. It ended up being exactly one year between my final IUI try and my first (successful) frozen embryo transfer. There was more testing involved with IVF and I had to get a minor uterine surgery during the process, which delayed me a bit. Wishing you and your wife the best!!! (Also, I see you are in Colorado - you might check out cny fertility if you haven’t already!)
