Negative Side Effects

Hey everyone! I’m 25 and currently pregnant with my 3rd child. I’m considering getting my tubes tied after this pregnancy, but has anyone had it done and had any negative side effects? TIA!!

here for comments. just had my third.

I’m letting you know a few cons that my friends have told me about it but don’t get discouraged. I personally have not had it but a few of my older friends have had it done and still gotten pregnant. They also have felt lots of cramps and bloating. I have read though, that the reason of possible pregnancy is because of them not closing the fallopian tube completely. But don’t knock it tbh it doesn’t happen to everyone. I wish you good luck!

I’ve heard that it’s just simply not good for you and comes with many side effects. We’re planning on my husband getting a vasectomy, it’s way easier on him than a tubal would be for me.

I’ve considered after having a second baby in the future so I did a little research but more out of curiosity. As long as there are ovaries there is still a chance of an ectopic pregnancy that can come with many complications. Our reproductive system is also in charge of some of our hormone regulation so blocking or removing parts or all can affect how we are, how much depends on your body, kinda like how people have different reactions to the same forms of birth control and whatnot. The risks that come with any surgery of course are there as well, infections, nerve damage, collateral bodily damage, etc, unlikely but still a risk. I don’t know anyone personally that had had it done but after baby #2 I will look for more information and testimonials for a more educated decision. For now Mirena does the job with minimal side effects in my experience, plus it’s totally reversible so until further notice that’s what I’m doing.

I plan to have mine removed. That's how they do it in Iowa. I'm having my fourth in December.
