Babys red book

I was the same - first pregnancy my red book was given to me during a health visitor appointment. This time it just randomly came in the post with a letter saying they’ll see me at day 14 after birth. Not sure if they’ve changed the way they do things as I was definitely seen at day 0, 1 & 5 before too! @Minna I got my first from health visitor but before 34 weeks. Not even heard from health visitor yet

My second was born in 2020 so I hardly saw anyone...midwife or health visitor. I think I saw my health visitor once when I was like 38 weeks pregnant.

I had my first in February, and I didn't have a normal health visitor. I had a family nurse, but I had my red book one of the first times I saw her. Idk if it's just your health visitor being different than last time? Sometimes individual health visitors see their patients a lot less than others around here for no discernable reason, at baby groups I hear so many complaints about people's HVs and I feel so lucky I love my family nurse

With my first I got my red book from the health visitor 11 days after birth, looking like it'll be the same this time as I'm 37+3 and haven't heard anything

@Katie ah that's interesting I just remember taking it in my hospital bag cause they filled in all the information for baby's initial tests

@Elizabeth sounds like its so different for everyone. I would be quite happy not to see a HV I just want the red book for all the baby info to be filled in

I got mine from the health visitor 3 days after birth.

I have a friend who gave birth 6 weeks ago who got hers at 34w. I gave birth a week ago at 40w and get mine next week😂 I think it’s just to do with backlog, priority visits etc x

I gave birth in June and was given it on my first home visit after birth!
