Dental procedures

I’m so upset, I broke a tooth and now I just know they’re going to tell me I need a root canal or a crown or something. I’m so anxious at the dentist as it is and I’m considered high risk this pregnancy. Anyone else had experience getting dental work around 30weeks 😭 I need to hear positive things.

The amount of actual radiation with dental x-rays are very low. My OB literally said to me if you have dental emergency, do it, pain and infection is way worse then treating a dental procedure

I had to have two teeth removed at 34 weeks with my first pregnancy - everything went smoothly and I didn't even take pain meds after. This time I also have a tooth that broke my first couple weeks being pregnant and my dentist says he would prefer to wait to extract it until after baby is born because he is concerned it will possibly need stitches and be a bit more painful than usual and he knows my pain med options are limited while pregnant. So we are waiting - unless it becomes painful or gets worse. But I would just go in and do the consultation and see what they recommend. If it's a simple fix that can save the tooth I say go for it asap otherwise just see what their advice is.

@Christina oh man so you didn’t have to have bone grafts after the two that were removed?? I have a feeling this big molar that broke might be past the point of saving 😭 I can’t get into the dentist until Wednesday and I’m so scared I’ll get a dental infection.

@Katie no thankfully no grafts!
