Parental leave help 😭

Please help me understand what’s going on because I’m unable to pay any bills or rent. I started my parental leave on august 11, and since then I have gotten 1 check for about 700 and a second check for about 300. Since that, I haven’t gotten anything! I thought it was paid weekly? I understand there’s a one week waiting period where I won’t be paid which would be from the 11th until the 17. But that means I should have still received 5 payments and I only got 3. Please help because my car payment, insurance and rent are all late! 😭 Also, I applied for the child tax benefit on the 13th and still nothing. I don’t understand how it’s possible to pay bills like this I’m struggling badly and I have a newborn 😭

It's paid bi-weekly. The amount depends on how long you took. Sounds like 18months based on the amount. It's $740 every two weeks which is not a lot of money.

I applied for child tax on July 22nd and it just got processed on sept 11. I won’t receive payment until October

Not sure how you registered but I used the 5 in 1 newborn registration method

Ei is also paid bi weekly. I’m doing 12 months and I receive 598 weekly which is the maximum amount. However I get paid biweekly

@Mandisa I’m only doing 20 weeks but it looks like now I’ll have to go back to work.. 740 every 2 weeks is impossible to live on 😭 just my rent is $1900. Omg

@Jessie yes that is insane ! My work tops me up after ei gives me that money or o wouldn’t be able to afford 12 months. Would love to do 18 but can’t afford that
