Hi guys. I am 3.5 months postpartum and I believe I have PGP…. It was a pain ineyween my legs at first, so lift my legs up etc is painful … but I feel it’s getting worse! One leg is particularly bad :( does anyone else have this after having the baby? Does it get better after time? X

I'm 7 months pp and still have PGP. I've self referred for physio and this has helped for me.

Thanks. How did you go about doing that. Did you bother with the GP?

Hi Kelly, it probably should have got better now rather than worse. I'd seek a referral to a physio. If you can self refer do that. If not, ask your HV if they can refer or go to the GP. Hope it feels better soon, PGP is awful x

@Kelly ha definitely not! My GP is not helpful if I could ever get an appointment! You can do it through the maternity section of the NHS website as its something still preexisting from pregnancy. I've just finished a set of hydrotherapy and now seeing a physio and they also give me stretches to do at home. It's still pretty bad but more manageable!

Thanks ladies. My GP is useless to - il look at getting a physio! I no this May sounds a Ridicolous question as I have just had a baby, but PGP shouldn’t affect trying for another baby should it? X

So I had bad PGP during my last pregnancy and first months postpartum I actually wasn’t discharged from my midwife(UK) till much later than normal as I couldn’t stand upright and had to lean on things to walk. I did a lot of deep core exercises (syncing breath to pelvic floor and abdominal muscles and focused on gentle movement that targeted my transverse abdominal muscles). It’s harder to get physio referrals where I am so I trolled insta for accounts that targeted postpartum exercise and rehab. One of my favorites is mommy mango (she is from the US). She has free videos on her insta, facebook, and YouTube channels as well as a paid work at your own pace 8 week bootcamp. I had just started the bootcamp when I became pregnant with my second and just stuck with some basic exercises but I am now 1 year pp with my first and 36 weeks pregnant with my second and have only just now had some small pains when walking or at the end of the day as baby has started to engage. It’s been a lifesaver.
