GD big baby anxiety

Hello ladies. I have GD, I was diagnosed at 34 weeks and I'm 35 weeks tomorrow. I've just checked how my midwife measured me the other day and my belly is no measuring 90th percentile. I'm 5ft1 and normally a size 6/8. I'm now literally riddled with anxiety that my baby is going to be huge! Anybody else in the same position? And had their growth scan? What's your plan going forward?

I have gd and I'm 36+5 days and if my sugar levels don't lower they will induced me between 38 and 40 weeks

I’m in the exact same position, I’m 5ft 1 and usually a size 6 and got diagnosed at 34 weeks too and my baby is measuring on 89th percentile! He was weighing approx 6lb 2 at 34 weeks and 7lb 6 at 36 weeks 🙈 it’s only my fasting numbers that are high, I was diet controlled for 3 days which didn’t work, metformin x1 for 3 days then upped to 2 and then 3 which I’m on now and still getting the odd high fasting number 🙈 I’m already booked in for a c section at 39 weeks for other reasons but they did say if 3 tablets don’t work it will be insulin next and c section moved to 38 weeks instead. Have they prescribed anything for you? Xx

I had this with my first pregnancy, they’re not always right with the numbers. I’m only 5ft, my baby was 8lb 3oz. Don’t let the midwives scare you, your body will only create a size of baby you can take. Trust yourself, you can do this. Anxiety over something you have no control over will make things worse, I was the same as I made my situation worse by listening to the midwife and I panicked. If I was calmer and thought things through I’d have had a better experience xx

I don't have GD but my baby has been measuring big. My last growth scan was a week ago.we are in the 90 percentile. Dr is looking to pulling him at 37 weeks but he is still unsure. Last week he was saying our little boy was measuring in at 7 lbs. So right now I'm just waiting. I have my bag packed and his just in case. We have another appointment next week.

@Courtnee I've not been prescribed anything yet, just started measuring my blood sugars really. My results from the gtt were actually really positive I had 4.6 for fasting sugars, and then 8.1 for the second test. Then got home to measure the blood sugars and they've been all over the place, getting different figures from the same bit of blood, seconds apart...its getting frustrating. A c section is literally a last option for me as I'd have to go under general, because u have a bleeding disorder aswell. Because I wasn't diagnosed until 34 weeks I missed the 32 week scan and have to wait for my scan next week, followed by a consultant appointment. Xxx

@Stef I'm packing my bag next weekend. I have all the stuff, but I've had no access to it because of renovations! Hopefully they will be finished this weekend. Xxx

@Nisha funnily enough I've said all along that I will only produce a baby that my body can deal with, but this past week I've been a bit down and doubting it. I've really enjoyed being pregnant and now I'm suddenly really down and really uncomfortable. Xxx

@Crystal fingers crossed they only say something like this for me! I'm having to work until 2 weeks before he's due xxx

I have GD but my growth scan has been normal looking at the trend baby will be 2.9 or 3kg if she comes on the 37th week. I do believe our babies listen to us so tell him or her what you want as your in it together okay

So I don’t have GD but have a big baby measuring 97th centile. Had my 32 week growth scan and that’s when they said they wanted to retest for GD, I had it and it’s still negative. But baby still big. So there’s talks of induction early if I agree. But will make a more set plan at the 36 week growth scan. Not sure how it works with GD too but at the end of the day you just need to do your research so you can be as informed as possible to make your choices if that’s required xx
