Diabetes

So I’ve developed diabetes in my third trimester and baby is weighing well above average. I’m currently 34 weeks, I’ve got a growth scan again in two weeks to discuss options. Do people usually get induced early with this?? X

I’ve been diagnosed at 30 weeks after 2 negative tests. The diabetic team told me that if you manage GD by diet you will likely be induced by 39 weeks. If you take metformin it’s normally 39 weeks also but if you take insulin it can be from 38 weeks. I have a growth scan next week at 33+6 and they’ve said depending on her size (she was 5lb8oz at 32+3) they’ll discuss my options I also have polyhydramnios so I’m praying they bring me on at 38 weeks as I’m so big and uncomfortable 😭 xx

I got diagnosed at 29 weeks and so far I am expecting to go naturally. At 30 weeks baby was measuring 4lb 5oz but they are growing at a perfect steady rate so there's been no concerns. I've been consultant led my whole pregnancy so have had regular scans to begin with. I'm 32 weeks now and have another scan on Tuesday. The last thing I would want in this pregnancy is an induction and I would rather not have a section either.

I got diagnosed at 29 weeks and everything is diet controlled at the moment, baby is measuring a little big but completely healthy and nothing unusual. So far no discussions on induction or c-section and my plans to have a natural delivery are still there. I'm 32 weeks almost.

@Kaylee I am exactly like you, really don't want induction or a section if it's safe not to do so. I'm on metformin and insulin but baby measuring normal so I'm hoping this is the same on my next scan on Wednesday
