TTC- should I contact the doctor?

I came off the pill after being on it for 8 years, had unprotected sex with a “whatever happens, happens” mentality for 2 years. Nothing happened, we then decided to track ovulation and realised I wasn’t ovulating because I wasn’t getting periods. I suddenly got my first period months later and miraculously got pregnant that cycle with my little boy. I had my little one 2 years ago and have only had 1 10 day bleed (which was 6 months ago) in these whole 2 years. We are at the point where we have been trying to conceive baby number 2 and I’ve been testing for ovulation twice a day for months but I’m just not ovulating, probably because I don’t have periods. I’m a little nervous to contact my GP for help as I know how dismissive they can be. I’m wondering whether they can help give me something to make me ovulate or help regulate some periods. I’m also 26, almost 27, and feel I’ll be judged because I’m young. Any advice? The stress of TTC and my body not doing what it should makes me so worried I’ll never be able to have another baby and give my son a sibling until he is much older.

Definitely see a doctor! You should be ovulating regularly if you’re not on any contraception. They can prescribe medication to help you start ovulating x

Are you breastfeeding? For some people it stops or alters cycles... its the only thing that regulates mine weirdly xx

@Billie not breastfeeding! Haven’t had regular periods since I was on the pill 5 years ago x

I'd get checked out, could be a side effect from birth control but that is an awfully long time to still be impacting you xx

See a GP! Good luck
