Braxton Hicks

Hi all, This may seem like a silly question, but did you notice that you had more braxton hicks with your second baby? I’m currently just gone 31 weeks but I seem to have been having them on and off all day every day since 30 weeks?! I got them early with both pregnancies so quite used to them, but I don’t ever remember them being this frequent with my first (until we realised I was actually in early labour). I guess I’m just a little more paranoid this time around as it feels much earlier. My last baby was breech and this baby is head down so could this be the difference? Any advice would be great 😊

Yes!! With my first I started having them regularly at around 34 weeks but with this one they started right at the beginning of second trimester (just one or two here and there) but then as soon as I hit 30 weeks it's like bam all day every day! I actually brought it up to my doc because I was a little concerned and they basically said drink some water you're fine 🙃 They are still sporadic and come and go but I've lost sone of my mucus plug and baby boy is LOW. I definitely don't see us making it to 40 weeks!

@Christina thank you for replying! I’ve been the same and usually drink 2L of water a day, how much more am I meant to consume?!?!😂 Sorry a bit tmi but how do you know if you are loosing your mucus plug and it’s not discharge? Again since 30ish weeks all kinds has been leaving my body and I’ve just been assuming it was normal 🤣

So for me normal discharge has been exactly that- white or liquid ....but the one day I had a blob of greenish yellow that looks just like mucus 😅 and then that was it back to complete normal....so I'm assuming that was it because I have no signs of infection and it was only the one time....I could be wrong but it looks just like the pictures people post of it ..

Also- I i did not have that happen with my first- or rather I never noticed it if it did! So definitely a new experience for me 😆

@Christina ohhhh okay yes this makes sense! I’ve had that on the odd occasion recently, it’s more like snot? I thought it was super weird and read that your mucus plug regenerates so wasn’t too worried but it would make sense if the braxtons have increased too!! I didn’t have any of this with my first because she was breech, so was never low down and I don’t ever remember loosing any kind of different discharge but holy moly it feels like this child is going to fall out of my vagina every time I walk 😂😂

Yes!! 😆 I swear I feel like I could just push him right out!

I swear Iv been having them since like 20 weeks. Never had with first!

@Jess I’m sure it was somewhere between 18-20 that they started but they were very few and far between, now it feels like it’s on and off over the span of hours, my muscles and skin are crying out 😂
