Opinions on what this could be?

For the last 3 days, our LG has been inconsolable in the mornings. I’m talking 40 minute + meltdowns over absolutely anything and everything. She’s cries when we brush her teeth too. As soon as she gets to nursery however, she’s completely fine and apparently has the best day. She’s like her usual, happy self at home in the evening too which makes this even weirder. Today she’s almost listless, refuses to even drink milk or touch her breakfast which isn’t like her. She keeps rubbing her face around her mouth, is whinging & won’t walk. There’s no temperature or signs of any obvious illnesses. I’d asked her the other day if anywhere hurts and she kept pointing to her head? My only logical guess is teething as she only has her 2nd molars to go but wondered if anyone else has any ideas of what this might be?

My little girl does exactly this when she is teething, and always in the morning! We’re going through it at the moment as she also has second molars coming through. Mornings are really tense with her throwing herself around the floor screaming for a really long time, and nothing I do seems to help. And then she’s totally fine at nursery all day 🤷🏻‍♀️ she did also do the same though a few weeks back and after a few days I took her to the GP to rule anything else out and turns out she has tonsillitis, so could be worth a GP visits to just rule anything else out?

Could it be hand foot and mouth? If she’s rubbing her mouth? I know there’s no symptoms until the spots/blisters come out that could be it although teething could be it to our lg has started hating her teeth being brushed I suspect it’s due to her back teeth and maybe some of the others that are waiting to come through. We have had 2 colds back to back to so she’s just generally sensitive and started realising that she has her own mind and can get attention from crying etc

@Hannah oh no, hope she’s all okay now! We’re going to see how she is this evening and tomorrow morning but we’re definitely more inclined to go to the GP 😮‍💨

@Josie I hope not, she’s not long had that, although I know you can get it more than once 🥲 I’m honestly stumped on what it could be so we’ll just keep monitoring her or take her to the GP worst case

It could also be the beginning of a ear infection! My son is like this with one. But most likely is teething 😭

@Aysha oh bless him, how is he doing? Has he got the exact same symptoms?

That does sound like teething. When my little man has sore teeth he says his mouth and head hurt.

@Ru I’m really hoping it’s just that, she’s meant to be off to her aunts this weekend but of course would rather her feel better more than anything 😅

@Shana Fingers crossed, bless her
