Potty training

Any tips of how to potty train my little girl? Shes 21months and shows no signs or interest in the potty but I would love to start trying to get rid of the nappies

Following. I just don’t know where to begin or what to follow etc.

Following too. Just feel like my LB might not be ready but would love tips! I’ve heard that you need to commit to it for a few days and put them on the potty every 30 minutes but don’t know when to start xx

I had my daughter naked for the weekend and just went for it. Got her a couple of books to read on the toilet. She’s into praise so when she would do a wee on the toilet we made a big deal about it. We also decided to go straight for a toilet seat rather than a potty. I started the first day every half an hour but by the end of the day it was every 12 mins as that’s when she would next need a wee. I worked my way up to half an hour and then just started waiting for her to tell me. We do have accidents (she’s started weeing in the car seat quite often now for some reason), but generally she picked it up super quick. Wasn’t necessarily showing signs, it was just a battle trying to change her happy so we took the plunge. Wees are easier than poos, but she will poo on the toilet. She’s in a pull up for her naps and bed time, but at nursery they keep her in her pants for a nap!

@Georgina okay, may try that x

I’d highly recommend reading oh crap potty training book. I used that with my eldest and found he trained really easily.

I've gone for the bare bottom approach too, it definitely involves watching the wee one like a hawk for cues and the praise is key I think. I really big it up, cheering, high fives and even called my partner who cheered for her too hehe. She was so proud 😁 We've only just started yesterday but she's doing so well. I first started by having the potty in the bathroom and each morning she'd sit on it with the pull up still on just to get comfy (did that for a couple weeks) and then when she seemed comfortable enough I've started this. She will now say when and what it is she's needing to do so definitely feel it's working.
