No appointment

I’m pregnant after a miscarriage (start of aug), without a period. EPU have said they do think I am too but I have to ring midwives to get booked in. Midwives won’t book me as it’s protocol to wait two months after a miscarriage. They told me to wait til end of October but that would take me to 10 weeks before ringing, probably past 12 before the midwife appointment or scan. EPU have said they unfortunately cant advise anything. I’m just frustrated.

Can you maybe go through doctors to get a blood test done? The midwife at least should have sent you to get a blood test done

@Sarah the EPU were nice about it and understanding but the community midwives line were like no we can’t do anything, if it’s what the rules are, they can’t. Just sucks. I even explained the negative tests beforehand and dates etc.

So the miscarriage would generally be classed as your last period professionally so they should be booking you around 10 weeks. I’d just phone up and give them the first day of bleeding at your first day of your missed period without mentioning the miscarriage until you have your appointment because even by their own rules they shouldn’t be waiting till the end of October

I’ve managed to get a doctors appointment.

So they ignore a new pregnancy, because you’ve had a miscarriage?? What a hell? Thats just crazy, who makes these rules?

Haha maybe she was having a bad day. I’ve been to the doctors, she confirmed the pregnancy and gave me the meds I had last time. She’s also writing to them to confirm and hope if I ring next week they will acknowledge it.

They think it’s not a new pregnancy. So ask for a two month wait. I rang again this morning. Poor lady said it’s just her and 5 phones and 20 new pregnancies to input. I totally understand that so said the doctors going to send a letter in to state it is new. I just explained how anxious I am.
