It also confused me but I think its weeks plus days and with clear blue u always add 2 weeks on so that means u r 4-5 weeks

The clear blue packaging says to basically add 2 weeks on. The clear blue goes based off of ovulation (which typically happens 2 weeks after your period) whereas drs measure it from the first day of your last period so it's usually about 2 weeks longer, gets less confusing when you have your dating scan or more sometimes because it can all end up being off lol xx

So I’m 5 weeks

Last missed period or last period I acc had

You go by the date of your last period

Until you get a scan anyway and then they’ll tell you how far your measuring

I see

How do you get a blood test conformation

The Clearblue is estimating how long since you’ve conceived, rather than gestational age, which is the 5+4 you hear people using. Last period date is the one people tend to use, and is worked out since the first day of your last period. The clearblue is using the levels of HCG in your urine to guess how long since sperm met egg, basically. If you’re showing as 2-3 weeks, you should be around 5 weeks, as someone has said above 👍🏻

Tank you xx

Clear blue goes by ovulation date, scans go by period date. So I'm 26+6 currently but by ovulation I'm only 24+6. 5+4 basically means 5 weeks and 4 days pregnant. A test only goes by weeks so that saying 2-3 weeks means you're roughly 4-5 weeks pregnant.

Believe the doctor and what they tell ya. And the 5+4 is probably 5weeks and 4 days

It’s not 2-3 weeks, on the packaging it says how it’s done but I believe like the others said that you add 2, when I took mine it said 3+ and I was just over 6 weeks at my scan a week or so later(now 33 weeks). When people say “x+x “ it’s weeks+days, e.g. 12+6 is 12 weeks and 6 days. X

also if any wants to talk add my snap I need mum friend I’m 17 and new to this Charlottej9653

I wouldn’t go by 5+? Until your 12 week scan as they will tell you what day to count your weeks from, but it essentially means 5 weeks 4 days pregnant which means there’s 34 weeks and 6 days until your “due date” but this will be given more accurately by your ultrasound tech at your first scan xx

Thank you xx

@Charlotte the date of conception is almost impossible to fully tell which is why babies are most never born on their due date so the “days pregnant” are less important than the weeks and more just for your dr to know what gestation your baby’s sitting at for if any problems or anything occurs throughout your pregnancy xx

Tyyyy

congratulations

Thank you

Also when I say problems I don’t mean anything scary hopefully all goes well for you but many things can occur later on that may require a dr like reduced movement any baby’s just hiding or something similar so I don’t mean to worry you by saying that!! Congratulations and I hope your pregnancy goes very well xx

@Charlotte You don't get a blood test confirmation in the UK. You register it with the midwife service and await your first appointment. Then your first scan will give you a more accurate dating. When people say they are something + something, they mean they are so many weeks and so many days. I'm 33+6 today which means I'm 33 weeks and 6 days pregnant. Tomorrow I'm 37 weeks pregnant. The 2-3 means just an estimate because they can't tell you exactly on them.

Register ur pregnancy through the NHS and they will send you a letter with ur dating scan. They will ask you questions like when was the first day of ur last period (don’t worry too much if you don’t know) and they will try to book you in for as close to 12 weeks as possible. I was really disheartened when I saw how far away my first scan was after finding out super early but they won’t offer you any scans until then. You can always go private (a little pricy) and they can do you reassurance scans any time. It doesn’t look like a baby until 11-12 weeks tho hence this being why nhs wait until then to scan. You don’t get many nhs scans unless you have a high risk pregnancy. For most just 12 weeks and 20 weeks xx https://www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/finding-out/finding-out-you-are-pregnant/

Yes!!

See I have always thought of it as you're like 2 weeks when you ovulate if you ovulate on time...so when you test you're like 4-5 weeks by then. I know I ovulated late so I'm like 20 weeks 2 days but Dr thinks I'm 21 weeks 2 days. I argued that I knew the date of conception but he didn't care much. I'm sure they'll tell me more at my anatomy scan next week since nobody has really done an ultrasound since I was like 7 weeks.
