Has anyone ever changed a child's surname before?

I really want to change my son's surname. Does it cause issues later in life? Thanks

I changed my name as a teen and it caused no problems, I needed to send my change of name deed off when I got a passport but after that passport didn’t have to again and just declare the change on the odd paper work

Legally you need to get permission off anybody with PR or a court order x

@Kiera I have permission. Just wondered if it would be better to do it now rather than later

Yeah get it sorted now xx

@Michelle that's good to know. Thank you

Done my daughters when she was 3. Never had any issues. I would just say order more than one copy as I lost my first copy and the company I done it with went into administration so now I have to redo it again

@Bella thank you. How much did it cost?

I think it was about £50. It just needs to be signed by a witness. This doesn’t have to be a solicitor just someone that’s not related to the person

@Bella thank you c
