Getting to the hospital

Being a solo mom means having extra ppl on backup to take me to the hospital. So far my doula is #1 but she lives pretty far and god forbid anything goes wrong… so I have two backups (sisters) but both are usually unreliable and bad at responding quick… I’d hope they would be different for a birth but it’s very possible both don’t get back to me in the night or something. It’s pretty stressful just being here alone, but hoping and praying for the best and a textbook labor with plenty of time for a ride there… guess I’m just looking for reassurance! I got lots of video ads about precipitous births and it’s freaking me out lol..

Does your doula have a backup, or can she help put a plan in place to help ease your mind? My mom took me to the hospital so a little bit different but my doula was able to get there quickly!

I’m a single mama too @Chelsea and had to drive myself to the hospital for my second one😩. It’s definitely a hassle but trust me you forget it all once your little gets here😊

@Janiera Wow 😮 I can’t believe you drove yourself but I sure know a mama’s gotta do what a mama’s gotta do! Lol major props!!

@Courtney nope :/ she’s over an hour away just to get to me then another half hour to the hospital so I’m hopeful I just won’t end up in the precipitous category and all will be ok 😅🙏🏼

@Janiera I did the same thing with my third, my “friend” was too drunk to answer the phone ☹️ The hospital thought I was nuts but in retrospect it wasn’t that bad. @Chelsea I had all the control since my water hadn’t broken yet so I waited til they were 8 mins apart. Had him pretty quick :)

@Chelsea awww darn. I’m guessing it’s too late to find one closer? 🥲😂

@Courtney oh yes lol wellll past that!

@Chelsea and @Roxy y’all it was definitely a fiasco lol. Very stressful being in situations like that but when I tell you it showed me how strong I am. Y’all are great mama’s no matter what and each day you prove that with how much you are willing to sacrifice and do. @Chelsea if you ever need to talk or motivation for the big day, I’m here.

@Janiera Right back at you queens 💜
