Gift for labor and delivery?

Hey ladies, When I had my son in 2021 I bought gifts for the labor and delivery nurses and staff. Is this still a thing? Are you planning to bring stuff for the hospital staff? If so what??

I am! I'm planning to do little grab and go baskets (1 for day shift/1 for night shift) that have easy snacks, chap stick, lotion, hand sanitizer etc in them! And then probably order in pizza or donuts for them too.

A basket for the team.

I love that idea.

I did snack thank you bags. Just a little something. I have some made for labor and delivery and some made for the recovery floor.

Okay I’ve seen these and I didn’t do it with my first 2 but want to with this delivery, how do you know how many will be on the team? My second has a lot more than my first due to decline in fetal heart rate during labor.

I know I overdid it with how many I did but I shopped at Sam’s for the items and since I have GD I can’t have any of this and my fiancé doesn’t really have any of this. I made 30. I figured I can focus on the people that attend to me and whatever is left can be taken by their coworkers. 15 each floor. This is not mandatory so it’s whatever you feel comfortable with.

I have been looking at ideas on tik tok and I think I will go with the individual bags as well. I’m thinking about making maybe 8 to 10 of them.

@Abby there's really no way to know exactly how many will be around for your personal delivery, due to shift changes and timing of your labor. General gifts for the whole unit are usually easier so no one is left out! If you want to do something special for the specific nurses caring for you during your stay you could do candies and hand written notes. Just the appreciation is what makes it special.

As a nurse, if you're gunna do this please do some sort of food 👀🙈 Always the best gift when you work long shifts
